Yacht Club Praha was founded in the early 1990s by extreme sports pioneer Jiří Jelínek. Today, the Novák family continues his legacy.

Jachetní klub Praha, also known as Yachtclub Praha (YCP), was founded in the early 1990s by the well-known adrenaline sports pioneer and passionate sailor Jiří Jelínek. This outdoor guru built his first sailboat named Shinook himself, which he moved to the Adriatic in the summer of 1990, thus giving birth to Jachetní klub Praha.

The Yacht Club, as the first Czech charter company, began organizing cruises, boat rentals, and skipper courses. Jirka Jelínek always loved the Adriatic, and it became his second home. Over time, the company grew and became highly professional, purchasing new boats which it regularly replaces and modernizes, organizing skipper training and courses, regularly publishing in sailing magazines, and establishing the prestigious May Regatta, a sailing race in the area of Kornati and the Murter Sea.

Unfortunately, Jirka Jelínek passed away suddenly in January 2016. At 76 years old, he was still very active.

For the last few years, his grandson Matěj Novák worked closely with Jiří, working as a skipper, leading skipper courses, and participating in the operations of the Yacht Club. After Jirka's passing, Matěj Novák took over the management of the company.

Matěj inherited Jirka's adventurous nature, love for nature, and yachting. Since childhood, he spent part of the summer on his grandfather's yachts, and Matěj also enjoys his love for water and wind on a windsurf board.

Tým YCP tak úspěšně pokračuje v odkazu Jirky Jelínka. Z původních pěti plachetnic, které Matěj přebral po odchodu Jirky Jelínka, se postupem času flotila rozrostla a v současné době máme 16 jachet, které kotvíme v naší domovské marině Mandalině v překrásném Šibeniku.

In recent years, Matěj's wife, Kristýna, has also joined our work team, bringing much-needed female energy to our family business.

Our work together is our passion and our hobby, and we are very grateful for it.
